Mr Oluniyi Robin Coker, Acting President

Oluniyi Robbin-Coker has served as Minister of Energy in Sierra Leone since February 2012. He is leading the effort to restructure and improve on the power sector to achieve an unprecedented 1000MW of grid distributed power to serve the needs of booming mining and industrial sectors as well rapid urbanization amid a fast growing population. In May 2013 Niyi was elected to chair a Mano River Union working group on “Women’s economic empowerment through increased access to sustainable energy.” Prior to his appointment as Energy Minister, he served as Private Sector Advisor (PSA) to H.E the President of Sierra Leone for three years. During his tenure as Private Sector advisor, he was instrumental in shaping and implementing the Government’s strategy to drive private sector led growth which resulted in a 500% increase in the Foreign Direct Investment pipeline, as well as negotiated investment deals including the country’s first Bio-mass fueled IPP Power Purchase Agreement. Additionally Mr. Robbin Coker was responsible for crafting the Government’s Public Private Partnership policy and the “Local Content” Policy. Before his appointment as PSA, Niyi spent eighteen months with the IFC in Sierra Leone and seven years with Citigroup in New York. He has an MBA from the Cranfield School of Management in the UK and is married with four kids.

Edleen Elba, Vice President 2

Edleen Elba is a highly qualified business leader, Chartered Global Management Accountant, and People Management Practitioner with extensive senior experience in both the private and public sectors. She is the Founder and Managing Director of Elba Group, which includes the 17-year-old human resources firm JobSearch (SL) Ltd and the Elba Foundation, dedicated to nurturing leaders. Her career began at KPMG in 2003, where she implemented financial software before creating and managing the firm's HR and Risk Management departments. She later held senior HR roles at Guaranty Trust Bank and the National Power Authority, where she managed the human resources and communication aspects of the energy sector's unbundling. Elba is also a Founding Director of the Institute of Human Resources Sierra Leone, chairs committees for the MEPS Trust Well Woman Clinic and the TVET Coalition, and is a board member for the Healey International Relief Foundation, reflecting her deep commitment to learning and women's empowerment.

Dr. Modupeh Taylor-Pearce, Treasurer

Dr. Modupe Taylor – Pearce is a scholar and practitioner of organizational development and leadership and a leadership Coach and Facilitator. Over the past three decades, he has successfully coached and trained leaders in Africa, North America and Europe. His passion for leadership enhancement was born out of his experiences as a cadet in the U.S. Military Academy (West Point) and as a military officer serving in combat in the Sierra Leone Civil War where he was shot twice. As the only Sierra Leonean with a PhD in Leadership, Modupe was the founding Dean of the African Leadership University School of Business, an institution providing a Pan-African MBA degree to Africa’s mid-career professionals. He is the Founder and CEO of BCA Leadership, an organization that has impacted over 2000 African leaders with coaching and knowledge-sharing services. He leads a team of thirty-two Coaches across Africa and he is the curator of The Made in Africa Leadership Conference. A TEDx speaker, Modupe has authored two books on leadership (“Striking Sustainable Success” and “Tough Love”) and a journal article in the International Journal of Leadership in Education. He is an alumnus of Capella University, Cornell University and the United States Military Academy.

Ajara Marie Bomah is a seasoned professional with over 18 years of experience in business development, media communications, and diaspora engagement. She is the Founder of Women Mean Business (WMB), a strategic communications agency that empowers African entrepreneurs to develop their brands and businesses. Her leadership at WMB has created a vehicle for collaboration, mentoring, and networking, providing safe spaces for women entrepreneurs to realize their dreams. She is also a volunteer ED of Sierra Leone Youth Advocate Program (SLYAP), an initiative dedicated to empowering young leaders and fostering civic participation among Sierra Leonean youth. SLYAP aims to create a platform for advocacy, life skills development, and governance processes, equipping young people with the tools they need to be effective advocates for change. She has held various leadership roles, including Deputy Western Region Secretary for the APC party, the Vice President of the West Africa Chapter of Sigma Gamma Rho Sorority Inc. and the President of Power Women 232, a network of female professionals working to empower themselves in order to create impact in their communities. Ibrahim Cole is a distinguished Sierra Leonean business executive with extensive experience in mining, oil, and infrastructure. As the Managing Director of Leonoil, he has been a driving force behind the company’s successful acquisition of Sierra Rutile Limited in 2024, the world’s largest producer of natural rutile. Under his leadership, the acquisition marked the first time in over 50 years that the company came under Sierra Leonean ownership. Sophie Johnson is a business professional with over 35 years of experience, including 13 years specializing in Sierra Leone's renewable energy sector. She holds Director positions at Solar Era Holdings SL Ltd and Africa Growth and Energy Solutions UK PLC, and as Country Manager for Serengeti Energy Baoma Ltd, she led the construction and operation of the country's first IPP solar utility plant. Sophie also founded and served as the first President of the Sierra Leone Renewable Energy Association (REASL), where she influenced policy and supported the nation's first off-grid market. A senior independent consultant, she currently works as the Country Policy and Government Relations Manager for Rainforest Builder SL Ltd. She is recognized for her ability to work strategically with government, donors, and the private sector to deliver high-impact results and promote clean energy solutions in Sierra Leone.
