SLCCIA Engagement with Kenyan Delegation on Trade and Investment Opportunities
The Sierra Leone Chamber of Commerce, Industry and Agriculture (SLCCIA) held an engagement with a Kenyan delegation to explore opportunities for strengthening trade, investment, and private sector collaboration between Sierra Leone and Kenya. The meeting provided a platform for both sides to discuss areas of mutual interest and identify opportunities for deeper business partnerships that can contribute to economic growth in both countries.
Discussions focused on key sectors with strong potential for collaboration, including agriculture and agro-processing, tourism and hospitality, manufacturing, renewable energy, logistics, and trade facilitation. The engagement also highlighted opportunities available through the African Continental Free Trade Area (AfCFTA) and the importance of creating stronger connections between businesses to increase regional trade and investment flows.
The Chamber shared perspectives on the opportunities and challenges facing Sierra Leonean businesses, while exploring possible areas where partnerships with Kenyan enterprises could support knowledge exchange, investment opportunities, technology transfer, and market access. Both parties recognised the importance of strengthening private sector-led cooperation as a pathway to expanding commercial relationships and supporting sustainable economic development.
The engagement reinforced a shared commitment between SLCCIA and the Kenyan delegation to promote stronger business partnerships, encourage investment collaboration, and create new opportunities for private sector actors in Sierra Leone and Kenya. Through such engagements, the Chamber continues to advance its role in facilitating international business connections and promoting trade and investment opportunities for its members.
