SLCCIA Engagement with the High Commission of Pakistan on Bilateral Trade and Investment Opportunities
The Sierra Leone Chamber of Commerce, Industry and Agriculture (SLCCIA) hosted the High Commissioner of Pakistan to Sierra Leone, H.E. Mahmood Akhtar Mahmood, for a strategic engagement focused on strengthening bilateral trade and investment relations between Sierra Leone and Pakistan. The meeting provided an opportunity for the Chamber and the High Commission to explore areas of mutual interest and identify potential pathways for increased private sector collaboration between the two countries.
Discussions centred on opportunities to expand cooperation in key sectors, including agriculture, agro-processing, textiles, and other areas with potential for trade and investment partnerships. The engagement highlighted the importance of promoting stronger business-to-business connections, knowledge exchange, and investment linkages that can support economic growth and create new opportunities for enterprises in both countries.
The Chamber shared perspectives on the Sierra Leonean business environment and highlighted areas where international partnerships could contribute to industrial development, value addition, and increased market opportunities for local businesses. Both sides recognised the importance of strengthening private sector relationships as a means of deepening bilateral economic cooperation and supporting sustainable development.
The engagement reaffirmed SLCCIA’s commitment to facilitating international partnerships, promoting investment opportunities, and connecting Sierra Leonean businesses with global markets. Through engagements with diplomatic missions and international stakeholders, the Chamber continues to advance its role as a platform for trade promotion, investment facilitation, and private sector development.
