Annual General Meeting and Election of the New Council

The Sierra Leone Chamber of Commerce, Industry and Agriculture (SLCCIA) successfully convened its Annual General Meeting (AGM) on 26 March 2026 at the Conference Room of the Freetown City Council. The meeting marked a significant milestone in the Chamber’s governance calendar, bringing members together to review the Chamber’s progress, fulfil statutory obligations, and elect a new Council to provide strategic leadership for the next administration.

The AGM reflected the Chamber’s commitment to transparency, accountability, and democratic governance. Members were provided with updates on the Chamber’s activities and institutional progress, while also participating in key decisions that will shape the future direction of the organisation. The meeting provided an opportunity for members to engage directly with the leadership and reaffirm their collective commitment to strengthening the Chamber as the recognised voice of Sierra Leone’s private sector.

A key highlight of the AGM was the successful conduct of the Council elections, during which members elected a new leadership team to guide the Chamber through its next phase of institutional development. The newly elected Council comprised President Mr. Oluniyi Robbin-Coker, Vice President I Dr. Modupe Taylor-Pearce, Vice President II Ms. Ajara Bomah, Treasurer Mr. Ibrahim Cole, together with ten elected Council Members, Mr. Peter Mannah, Mr. Kobi Walker, Alhaji Alpha Tanue Jalloh, Ms. Edleen Elba, Ms. Sophie Johnson, Mrs. Nafisatu Thullah, Mr. Abimbola Carrol, Mr. Kofie Macauley, Mr. Tapsiru King, Rev. R. A. Bola Williams, representing the Chamber’s diverse membership.

In his acceptance address, President Oluniyi Robbin-Coker expressed appreciation to members for the confidence placed in the new Council and outlined a vision centred on rebuilding the Chamber, strengthening its membership, enhancing public–private dialogue, expanding strategic partnerships, and improving the value of services delivered to members. He called on members to actively support the Chamber’s program and work collectively towards promoting private sector growth and national economic development.

The successful AGM ushered in a new chapter for the Chamber, laying a strong foundation for governance reform, institutional strengthening, and renewed engagement with members, Government, development partners, and the wider business community.
